Foundation Funding

The Office of Foundation Relations (OFR) identifies, cultivates, and engages foundations to maximize support to the Institute from this sector. OFR staff work to identify foundation opportunities aligned with Institute priorities across the entire campus, and to develop strategies for successful approaches. For more information on the Office of Foundation Relations, click here: https://foundations.mit.edu/for-faculty/ (MIT login required).

OFR staff serve as relationship managers for a portfolio of foundations, where they design and implement a coordinated strategy for MIT to maximize support from foundation partners, including all the steps leading up to and following solicitation.  Please contact the relevant Foundation Relations staff member* for assistance on approaching these or any other foundations.

Many Foundations request that all communication between the Institute and the Foundation be coordinated through a single point of contact. A list of these Portfolio Foundations, and the relevant Foundation Relations staff member can be found at the Foundations website. Please contact the MIT Office of Foundation Relations prior to reaching out to one of these Portfolio Foundations directly.”

OFR also tracks and organizes active Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from a variety of sources through dissemination of a once-per-month newsletter. Visit here to ensure you are on their distribution lists
