Junior Faculty

Some funding opportunities are designed to provide research support to junior faculty who are in the early stages of their research careers.

Below are curated opportunity lists that may be of interest to our junior faculty. These include Federal solicitations, Non-Federal solicitations, and opportunities specifically for women and under-represented minorities in STEM. A link to each program’s web page is available for more detailed information and current deadlines.

Please note that often junior faculty funding opportunities limit the number of proposals that MIT is able to submit. In these cases, the Office of the Vice President for Research (VPR) coordinates an internal competition to identify the MIT submission(s). For many of these junior faculty opportunities, MIT nominations may only be submitted by a department head or lab director.

Please visit our Limited Opportunities page for information on any current MIT internal competitions (including junior faculty opportunities) and the nomination criteria.
