Jacob E. Levin, Ph.D.

For over two decades, Dr. Levin has been working with faculty to identify and secure resources and funding to support their research. Jacob co-founded the Levin Global Group, a boutique consultancy advising top-ranked universities and non-profits on research funding and strategy.

Previously, he led the UC Irvine Research Development Office (RDO) which coordinated all stages of the preparation and submission process for grant proposal and other research funding efforts across campus. He helped lead the development and funding of multiple research Centers and Institutes, campus-wide initiatives, capital projects, graduate and undergraduate degree programs.

Dr. Levin has served on the Board of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM), the life science s industry trade association BIOCOM, and was a founding Board member and President of the National Organization of Research Development Professionals (NORDP). He has served as a grant reviewer for agencies such as the NSF and NIH, and is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

Dr. Levin received his BA in physics and math from Cornell University, an MA in physics from UC Berkeley, a PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology from UC Berkeley, and was a postdoctoral fellow in the MIT department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences.
