2024-25 Research Administration Services (RAS) Winter Break Proposal Deadlines

MIT will celebrate an extended winter break from Wednesday, December 25, 2024 through the New Year with offices reopening on Thursday, January 2, 2025. The table below outlines the MIT Research Administration Services (RAS) deadlines for complete proposal submissions with sponsor due dates during this period and immediately thereafter. 

MIT Deans and the Vice President for Research will not consider waivers for late proposal submissions to RAS for sponsor deadlines occurring during the period December 23, 2024 – January 2, 2025. 

All incoming agreements that must be executed by December 31 must be signed by MIT by Friday, December 20. Any exceptions will be at the discretion of RAS and based upon signatory availability

For deadlines occurring on January 3^rd, 6^th and 7^th, 2025, principal investigators may submit an updated statement of work by 12:00pm on the day of the sponsor’s deadline for proposals previously submitted to RAS. However, updates to any other sections are at the PI’s own risk; RAS will not re-review this text. In line with standard practice, RAS cannot guarantee a proposal receiving a limited review will be complete or correct when submitted and/or that terms and conditions included at proposal submission will be accepted by MIT.

In accordance with VPR Policy on Late Submission of Proposals, the complete and final proposal must be submitted to RAS by 9AM five full business days before the deadline date. The sponsor due date is not part of the RAS review period calculation.
