Proposals Received After RAS Deadline
Proposals received for the DOE Genesis Mission after the RAS deadline may not allow RAS the capability of a full and comprehensive review. Proposals lacking all required documents will be submitted “as is” when possible. Proposals that do not meet DOE minimum requirements will not be able to be submitted.
Questions regarding required documentation should be addressed to RA-Help@mit.edu.
For Non-Genesis Proposals and RAS Award Actions Required On or Before May 1
So that we are able to prioritize, please clearly indicate any sponsor-provided deadlines which will require urgent action to secure or maintain funding on or before May 1.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we prioritize RAS efforts during this period.
Amendment 3: DOE Genesis Mission Extends Deadline to May 1
The DOE Genesis team released Amendment 000003 late on April 20, 2026, with the following change:
- Extended the deadline for FY26 Phase I and Phase II applications by three days to May 1, 2026.
Based on this new information, we are able to extend the RAS deadline to Thursday, April 23, at 5pm.
Amendment 2: Subawards
The DOE Genesis team released Amendment #2 encouraging subaward proposals, in contrast to prior guidance requiring collaborative proposals.
We have received DOE confirmation that both subaward AND collaborative applications will be accepted and reviewed, and neither will be penalized in any manner.
Reminders
- RAS deadline for submission to RAS is April 23 by 5pm.
- Research Security Training: This DOE requirement must be completed prior to submission of the proposal via KC for all PIs and all Key Personnel, aka Covered Individuals.
- Industry cost sharing on the DOE Genesis proposals for industry collaborators is calculated at 20% of their individual for-profit budget, not the entire budget.
