Export Control in Research Training: Nov. 17, 2026, 10 a.m.

The training will now be offered on Zoom, as well as in person. To receive the Zoom link, RSVP by Monday, November 16.

The research community is invited to join us for an export control training workshop to learn more about export control, avoiding pitfalls in international collaborations, and other topics relevant to the MIT research community and the broader geopolitical climate in which we conduct research.

This is invaluable training for anyone currently working in, or considering a career in, a technical field. Having awareness of export control regulations and licensing requirements early on can avoid significant delays to scientific research and engineering research, collaborations, and projects.

Join us on Tuesday, November 17 from 10 to 11 a.m. in 9-255 or via Zoom. This workshop is presented by Janet Johnston, Senior Export Control Officer, Kate Donovan, Export Control Officer, and Lisa Cavallaro, Research Security and Compliance Administrator. It is open to research administrators, PIs, graduate students, postdocs, lab personnel, and others involved in MIT research. No registration required.

RSVP: An RSVP is appreciated to help us estimate attendance, but it is not required to participate. In-person attendance is preferred, but a Zoom option is available. If you plan to attend remotely, please RSVP by Monday, November 16, so we can send you the Zoom link prior to the workshop.
