MIT has received approval from our cognizant federal agency to charge the following provisional federal research facilities and administrative (F&A) rates for Fiscal Year 2027, beginning July 1, 2026. The rates are not a change from the fixed FY26 rates.
Please note, provisional rates are temporary and may be adjusted in the future when MIT and ONR finalize negotiations of fixed rates for FY27. Awards charged the provisional rate at the time of award may need to be adjusted based on the fixed rates.

These rates will be available for use in KC and SAP beginning today.
For subawards:
- For awards with start dates on or after July 1, 2026, excluding NIH: Apply the F&A rate to the first $50,000 in subaward costs. Subaward costs over $50,000 are excluded from MTDC.
- For all NIH awards, regardless of start date: Apply the F&A rate to the first $25,000 in subaward costs. Subaward costs over $25,000 are excluded from MTDC.
