FY2024 Under-recovery Changes: Key Information for Administrators

Starting in fiscal year 2024, the Institute is committing central resources to fund the under-recovery of facilities and administrative (F&A) costs on research grants each year.

New Subawards Forms Available

The RAS Subaward team introduced the new Subrecipient Letter of Intent/Commitment form during the April RAP Session. This form will aid in review at proposal time and minimize administrative burden at both proposal and award time.

NSF Safe and Inclusive Working Environment Plan

ffective January 30, 2023, PAPPG 23-1 introduced a new requirement from Chapter II.E.9, Safe and Inclusive Working Environments for Off-Campus or Off-Site Research, which requires the AOR to certify that an organization has a plan in place for safe and inclusive research for any proposal that proposes to conduct off-campus or off-site research. 

Dataset Metadata Auto-population in NSF In-progress Project Reports

Effective March 27, 2023, the National Science Foundation (NSF) made system enhancements to the Project Reports module in Research.gov to enable the auto-population of dataset metadata submitted to the NSF Public Access Repository (NSF-PAR) into NSF in-progress (i.e., unsubmitted) project reports

Revised FAQs for NSF PAPPG 23-1

NSF has issued revised Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) On Proposal Preparation and Award Administration Related to the NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG) (NSF 23-1). Any questions should be directed to the Policy Office in the Division of Institution and Award Support at policy@nsf.gov.

Department of Energy (DOE) Interim Conflict of Interest Policy

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has issued Interim Conflict of Interest Policy Requirements, which will affect DOE Awards issued to proposals submitted on or after 12/20/2021.

NSF PAPPG 23-1 Updates

The new NSF Proposal & Award Policies and Procedures Guide (PAPPG 23-1) went into effect on January 30, 2023.

NIH Salary Cap Increase effective January 1, 2023

The Executive Level II salary cap previously set at $203,700 has increased to $212,100 effective January 1, 2023.
