NSF has implemented Multifactor Authentication (MFA) for Research.gov to enhance security and safeguard NSF’s IT systems, user accounts, and personal and scientific data. As of January 1, 2025, the U.S. Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) will require Enhanced Identity Proofing at login, using government-issued ID and other personal information. Only the PI (not RAS or an administrator) may submit proposals through EERE Exchange.
